A Merry White Christmas

Approximate Date: December 24-25, 2010
Location: Mokpo, South Korea
Details: Nick and Becky celebrate their first Christmas as husband and wife.

On Christmas Eve, we went to the late showing of Harry Potter. As we were sitting in our seats, we noticed that others entering the theater were counting the rows and seemed to take their seat with direction. We suddenly became aware that the tickets have assigned seats indicated on them. At this point the theater was not near full and nobody had asked us to move, so we thought it would be best to stay put instead of looking like fools as we moved to different seats. Next time we will go in better prepared.

By earlier that evening it had begun to snow pretty steadily. We found it funny because Tim, our co-director, had told us a week or two prior that "If it is snowing, it can't be Christmas. It never snows on Christmas". So after the movie was out, we took a stroll around the city before going home to warm up and open presents.

On Christmas day, we went over to Shanna and Joe's apartment to cook a feast, listen to festive music and play a few games. It was a great day - the only downside being that we had to walk 15+ minutes back home with our stomachs still on the verge of exploding!

Snowy streets. A funny thing here is that it is legal to drive with chains on all streets. It seems silly that they don't think about the consequences to the roads - but when I imagine how they would drive without the extra traction... I agree that chains are probably best.

Aren't we just adorable with our wind bitten noses?

Hmmm, still adorable, right?

Rose Street.

Rose Street.

Our Christmas tree. Nick wasn't a fan of the pink colored fake tree from LotteMart, so he bought me this real tree from a florist we walk by on our way to work. This picture also gives a glimpse of our new couch! It was a gift to ourselves and has already had plenty of use.
